Mahuru Māori - Just Give it a Go!

Sept. 10, 2021, 1:38 p.m.

This current Covid lockdown has impacted on some of the work that Te Taura Whiri had organised for Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori. Ngahiwi Apanui (Te Aupōuri, Te Rarawa) shares some history around Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori and how the kaupapa would change every year, but in 2017 it was decided that Kia Kaha Te Reo Māori would be the kaupapa for Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori every year with the rainbow coloured tiki as the tohu. The major focus has also been Māori Language Month and encouraging people to speak te reo Māori throughout the month regardless of your proficiency, just give it a go!
