Latest update on Delta outbreak around the country and Māori communities

Dr Rawiri Taonui has followed the statistics for the daily cases of Covid-19 Delta outbreak as well as the vaccination rate throughout Aotearoa right down to ethnic groupings. The latest studies show that Māori have been the highest ethnic total for the 9th time in the last 20 days which is a real concern for the Māori communities like Te Tai Tokerau. Dr Taonui emphasises that Māori remain at the top of daily case rates, but does say that there has also been a recent major increase in the Māori vaccination rate which is one positive and asks that everyone continues to comply with the guidance from the Ministry of Health.
