Blessing of Unahi Wharf
The old Unahi Wharf in the Rangaunu has been closed and construction on the new wharf has commenced and a karakia for the wharf took place on Monday 4th of October. The occasion was attended by a number of locals including Shane Jones, who sort funding of around 2 million dollars towards the project.
It is expected that more fishing boats will be seen utilising this wharf once completed and a likely increase in locals launching from this area.
Kelvin Davis says that Ngāti Kahu will hear back this week about the return of whenua tupuna at Taipa Point Reserve.
