Update on Covid-19 in Waikato

Daily Covid cases continue to grow in the Waikato district with 18 new cases, however the majority of these cases have been linked to previous cases. Tamati Peni of the Waikato DHB updates us on the vaccination rate saying Pasifika have achieved over a 90% vaccination rate, while Māori sit a just over 80%. Despite the growth in Covid cases, Tamati Peni confirms that the Waikato district is now in Alert Level 2 like the majority of Aotearoa.
