Tāmaki Makaurau have reached the goal of over 90% vaccination rate, but the people here in Te Tai Tokerau still have reservations about receiving manuhiri and whānau when the borders open for travel. Makere Mutu provides some feedback about her engagement with whānau back home in Whatuwhiwhi in regards to planning and preparations for when whānau do come home after a long lockdown period in Tāmaki Makaurau. Makere still has concerns around the vaccination rate in Te Tai Tokerau and the fact that many of our whānau do not have a plan in place.
