International Study on the Effects of Covid-19 on Tamariki

A new international study on the impact of Covid-19 infection and the risk of severe outcomes on young people around the world. Professor Stuart Dalziel speaks to us about this study and said that it coincides with the launch of the Covid-19 vaccinations for tamariki aged 5 - 11 years of age. Professor Dalziel says 10 countries from around the world were included in this study, including Canada and the US with over 10,000 children at 41 emergency departments followed contributing towards this much needed research. In summary, it is Dr Dalziel's recommendation that all whānau get vaccinated to avoid the risk of young getting severe illness if they contract Covid-19.
