Tupu Tonu: 1 Year On

Feb. 8, 2022, 1:53 p.m.

Ngāpuhi Investment Fund was established as a Crown Company by the Government in 2021. Deputy Chair Ripeka Evans joins us to discuss the progress, achievements and challenges of the past year as Tupu Tonu celebrated 1 year on the 1st of February 2022. Evans says there was an initial capital of $150 million to acquire and grow a portfolio of commercial assets that can be offered by the Crown to Ngā Hapū o Ngāpuhi. Evans says while Covid-19 has presented some challenges, it has not hindered the progress of Tupu Tonu, but did make it frustrating not being able to meet kanohi ki te kanohi.
