Change Our Roads, Not the Speed Limit

Feb. 14, 2022, 5:06 p.m.

Over the recent months there have been many changes made to the speed limits on the Northland roads to improve the safety. Dr Shane Reti shares his experience and knowledge of the different roads throughout Te Taitokerau and believes that more needs to be done than simply decrease the speed limits but also make changes in certain areas by creating additional lanes as has been done in some of the southern areas of the North Island. Dr Reti also believe these decreased speed limits will impact on the environment and the local economy with raised costs to deliver.
