Tūtūtarakihi: Already Into Week 6

While most schools throughout Aotearoa have only just started their first week of Term 1 for the 2022 school year. Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Tūtūtarakihi has now been back at school for 6 weeks. Janelle Popata, a kaiako at Tūtūtarakihi talks about how the kura kaupapa/ kura taiao (environmental school) is guided by the Maramataka Māori in regards to the school schedule and subjects. The first four weeks back at kura, Tūtūtarakihi camped out in four different areas of Te Hiku, learning about the history of the local area and environment.
