The mandatory vaccination has seen opposition since its inception as many of the public have expressed their feelings of no longer having freedom or freedom of choice about being vaccinated. Matthew Tukaki, chair for National Māori Authority Ngā Ngaru Rautahi o Aotearoa speaks about his visit to the protest and how there were many different reasons other than the Anti-Mandate COVID-19 vaccine, including land and water issues. Tukaki mentioned his kōrero with Tame Iti and quoted Tame's phrase saying it is a kaupapa driven by a Donald Trump mentality.
