More Than Just League

Te Tai Tokerau Rugby League (TRL) competition has included clubs from as far north as Te Kao, Te Aupōuri and all the way South to Whāngarei. There has been a passed belief that rugby league is simply a hard game played by hard men which can be said is partly true. However, Billy Harrison of Ngāti Kahu and Te Rarawa decent talks to us about a recent wānanga held at Parapara Marae for the Ngāti Kahu Sharks Rugby League Team in preseason preparations with an emphasis is on whānaungatanga and the club values. Billy shares his kōrero about how Ngāti Kahu Sharks are more than just rugby league and physical well-being. The club is also prioritising our whare tapa whā and setting whāinga to ensure a healthier future for our iwi of Ngāti Kahu.
