March 23, 2022, 3:57 p.m.

Aotearoa has felt the impact of Covid-19 not only with the virus itself but the protection measures and frameworks put in place by the Government to battle Covid and the different variants. Dr Dion O'Neale, Principal Investigator at Te Pūnaha Matatini joins us to share his views on the current systems in place and the latest announcements of the Government. Dr O'Neale says the current protection framework was designed around reducing transmission of the Delta variant, however, the Omicron variant requires 3 doses of vaccine to reduce the risk of transmission. The isolation period was recently decreased from 10 days to 7 days and Dr O'Neale provides some insight into the reasoning for this decision and the mandate situation.
