The old Pak'n'Save building has been vacant in the middle of Kaitaia for over a decade. In 2011 Kaitaia's only supermarket relocated to the northern end of town. Felicity Foy says that with Kaitaia recently being named the most beautiful town in New Zealand it is the perfect time to modernise these spaces. Developments are part of the existing Te Hiku Open Spaces Revitalisation Plan for Muriwhenua.
