Te Hiku Water Study

April 6, 2022, 1:01 p.m.

With support from the Kānoa Fund (previously Provincial Growth Fund), Aqua Intel Aotearoa and local Iwi are working together to survey the Te Aupouri Aquifer.

Last year over 20 applications for resource consent were accepted by Far North District Council, however, Te Papa Atawhai has contested those grants and halted any access to wai.

Penetaui updates us on the current situation and the reason they're mapping the puna to understand whether or not these resource consents would be manageable with the volume of water in the aquifer.
