Safety of the Whole Whānau

April 12, 2022, 2:55 p.m.

Tamariki aged 5 to 11 can get a free COVID-19 vaccine now. They will receive a children’s (paediatric) version of the Pfizer vaccine, with a lower dose and smaller volume. Makere Mutu talks to us about the low vaccination rate for our tamariki but also encourages whānau to get our tamariki vaccinated for the safety of the whole whānau. Most days in the Far North you can come across a group of demonstrators standing on the side of the road displaying signs of opposition with simple messages saying leave our tamariki alone. Makere believes vaccination is the best option to keep our tamariki safe.
