One of the lead organisers for Kura Kāinga ki Whirinaki Rangimārie Pōmare reminds us about the impacts of Covid-19 on all kaupapa that would usually be held in-person including our many reo Māori wānanga. Following recent announcements of the Government to ease the restrictions, a one-day wānanga is set to go ahead during good Friday. Kura Kāinga ki Whirinaki was originally for the whānau who lived back in Whirinaki, Hokianga however due to popular demand, enthusiasm to learn te reo Māori and reconnect with the hapū of Te Hikutū whānau have been travelling from abroad filling the whare at each of the 3 marae in Whirinaki.
