Tainui Stephens (Te Rarawa) on the Māori adaptation of "Astro Kid" released in 2019. The plot concerns ten-year-old Willy, who, after the destruction of his ship, gets separated from his parents and lands on an unexplored planet, where he must survive until the arrival of a rescue mission.

The beauty of being able to translate and produce Māori versions of movies has the ability to expand a child's imagination in te reo Māori. "It's exciting that tamariki can experience these films in Māori" says Stephens.
