World Indigenous Education Conference

Sept. 21, 2022, 12:01 p.m.

Celebrating tamariki returning to Kura throughout Aotearoa, Ngawaiata Evans (Ngāti Kahu) is focused on bettering the standard of education our tamariki receive. Deriving teaching tools from purākau from haukāinga to teach pūtaiao (science).

At this conference she intends to learn more about ways in which indigenous peoples learn and teach. "Our tamariki are very fortunate to have all these resources" says Evans. This is an opportunity to learn how to structure mātauranga Māori into teaching tools.
