The caliber of speakers and the mass of people who congregated in Kahungunu made the hui a great success. Tātere (Jeremy) MacLeod (Ngāti Kahungunu) says "Each year te reo prospers more and more" on the success of this years hui. MacLeod also pays homage to "Ngā Tama Toa" and "Te Roopu whakamana i te Tiriti o Waitangi" for driving the Reo Māori petition 50 years ago.
