E ngā hoa me ngā whanaunga, tēnā koutou katoa.
This Saturday 22 October 2022 we will hold the hurakohatu (unveiling) for our father Munro Peter Jones.
Unveiling location: Matarau Urupa, Awanui.
Start time: 10am
Born in 1934, dad was the 13th child of Mā Jones (Raiha Moeroa) and Ted Jones of Maimaru, Awanui. Dad was one of 17 children and he has one sister Aunty Annie May, and one brother Uncle Rolly who are still with us today. Mum (Ruth) and Dad were married in January 1959 in Awanui by Rev. Henare Paraone of Waimanoni.
Matarau is where Saint Joseph's Maori Anglican Church stands in Awanui. The service will include the baptism of mokopuna. Following the hura kohatu and iriiri at Hato Hohepa we will return to Mahimaru Marae for kai.
