Grievances filed on behalf of descendants and survivors of the 28th Māori Battalion will be resolved at a special ceremony held in Rotorua on Waitangi Day, where the official memorial flag of the 28th Māori Battalion will fly high. Historian and researcher Dr. Harawira Pearless said in an interview with Radio Te Hiku that the last surviving member of the 28th Māori Battalion, Sir Robert Bom Gillies will be in attendance.
