Guest speaker at the conference was Labour MP Kelvin Davis, who highlighted the importance of having the Treaty of Waitangi (a partnership between Māori and the Crown) in New Zealand's constitution to exemplify a possible working relationship between the Australian Government and its First Nation people in the new constitutional amendment.
