Ngāti Kuri kaumātua Jerry Norman addresses new housing plans for kaumātua in Te Hiku. Norman believes the new facilities must be within the parameter of a thriving and busy community where people gather and support each other. Building separate facilities away from people can feel isolating for some of our kuia and kaumātua.
