Prof. Shaun Hendy on whether Level 4 lockdown should continue

April 10, 2020, 12:05 p.m.

New work from Te Punaha Matatini suggests that leaving level 4 lockdown too early could lead to another COVID19 outbreak. Their report Modelling COVID-19 spread and the effects of Alert Level 4 in New Zealand simulates a number of scenarios after 23 April such as moving to Level 3 or 4. They demonstrate that the only was to fully eliminate COVD19 would be to stay in Level 4 lockdown for up to 90 additoinal days.
