Inequalities increase COVID19 fatality rates

April 24, 2020, 10:46 a.m.

We catch up with Prof Shaun Hendy on COVID19. Recent work by Te Pūnaha Matatini show that inequalities in the health section put Māori at a higher risk of death from COVID19. We also discuss whether their work around ethnic inequalities could be applied to other sectors such as policing of Māori and Pasifika communities. Finally, we hear how lock downs around thew world are helping us flatten the curve and eliminate COVID19.
