Pareaute (Pare) Nathan is a well-known exponent of the art of raranga. In 2015, she was awarded the Tohunga Raranga prize at Creative New Zealand's Te Waka Toi Awards and the following year was recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours with a Queen's Service Medal.
