Taking Vaccinations into Te Tai Tokerau Homes

Oct. 8, 2021, 7:07 p.m.

With Northland moving into Alert Level 3 as of 11:59pm tonight due to a positive COVID-19 test in Whangārei, whānau are being urged to vaccinate.

Vaccination rates in Northland are the lowest in the country, with Māori rates far behind those of the general population.

Te Hauora o Ngāpuhi has been running a community outreach program going door to door to vaccinate whānau.

This approach is closing the gap for those unable to access health services and provided familiar faces to deliver vaccines to those who are unsure.
