Social connection vital for rāhui - Extended Interview

April 4, 2022, 9:02 p.m.

Rueben speaks about the longstanding rāhui at Otia near Ahipara, it was put in place over 14 years ago by hapū members following a hui at Roma Marae. Rueben has shared the learnings from the establishment of that rāhui with other hapū in Te Hiku o Te Ika and concedes that model is still developing but with climate change, these practices and others left by tūpuna are going to be vital for the survival of the environment and the people connected to it.
