Come Macrame with Me

Christine Cook is a contemporary jeweler based in Whangārei. As a textile based artist, she works with non-precious materials that don’t usually get used in jewelry or fashion. A focus, which  gives her work a point of difference. She mixes traditional hand crafting techniques like weaving, braiding and macrame to create textures with her own spin. Whilst the work is quite labour intensive the products show layers of complexity that is not found in today’s jewelry or wearable art.
