Rough Ride For RDA

April 3, 2018, 9:51 a.m.

Riding for the Disabled, or RDA, has a tough time with funding - a problem not aided by their events, such as Jazz in the Garden, being cancelled due to weather. Riding for the Disabled Whangarei is located at Barge Park in Maunu, Whangarei. They provide children and adults with a vast variety of disabilities the opportunity to ride horses, an activity that can be very beneficial.  Operations Manager, Rachel Ball, opens up about the difficulties of keeping Riding for the Disabled funded and running. Jazz in the Garden was a fundraising event set for February 2018, which had to be cancelled due to weather - causing the RDA to not only miss out on a chance to involve the community, but they also had a financial loss. Rachel, a passionate and community orientated individual, lets people know how they can get involved and help out.
