Plastic Free Mangawhai

A local group is encouraging the community to get involved and realise the problems plastic causes. Through events such as their reusable bag making mornings, held regularly, Plastic Free Mangawhai are highlighting their concerns while also equipping the community with a solution - not to mention a fantastic social opportunity!  Founder of the group, Kate Matheson, wants people to open their eyes and realise the damage plastics are causing. When asked how we can do our part, one simple thing was saying no to single use plastics which “are only used for a few seconds, then is in the world forever” Plastic Free Mangawhai is part of a bigger movement, and if you have any questions you can contact them on their facebook page.
