Te Rā Nui I Te Rangi Peeni was a year 10 student at Kamo High School when he entered this section at Te Tii Marae, Kerikeri. He was killed in a quad accident at Maromaku later that year and this taonga was presented by Kamo High School as memorial to him. Carved by Warahi Hetaraka it is is awarded to the highest placed male in the Rawhiti Ihaka section.
