Haukāinga interviews, kapahaka, tautohetohe and performances by iwi musicians.

Te Ahuareka o Ngati Hine 2017, the Ngati Hine Festival was a two day cultural extravaganza celebrating the local community and the tribal identity of the Ngati Hine people. This collection of videos are from the live video stream that was broadcast from Otira Marae in Moerewa on 10 and 11 March 2017.

This livestream was made possible with support from NZ on Air. The festival video collection includes interviews with the members of the haukāinga, kapa haka performances, a tautohetohe, and performances by iwi muscians.

Ngāti Hine is an iwi with a rohe in Te Taitokerau, Northland, New Zealand. The iwi is descended from a female ancestor, Hineamaru, a great granddaughter of Rāhiri who settled in the Waiomio Valley, near Kawakawa. The location of the Ngati Hine Festival 2017 was Otira Marae.

Check out the videos from the festival and share them with your friends, whanau and whanaunga.

Te Hiku Media express thanks to Ngati Hine for extending an invitation for Te Hiku Media to be part of the Ngati Hine Festival through providing regional media coverage of the event.
