Our tamariki represent fiver marae and many hapū of Mangakahia and also encompass tamariki from the Pipiwai Valley. Te Kura Takiwā o mangakahia have been attending Te Tai Tokerau Festival since the very beginning with Te Kura Takiwā o Opononi in 1975.
This year Te Kura takiwā o Mangakahia take to the stage and would like to pay homage to our Whaea Daph who passed away on New Years Day due to illness. Whaea Daph was the absolute pou to our rōpu for many decades, she was the cook, uniform custodian, nurse, bus driver, cleaner, seamstress, boss lady!
