Te Hiku Media and Cinco Cine Film Productions brought a special edition to the Waitangi Day broadcast this year. An impressive line-up of wāhine Māori with affiliations to Te Taitokerau, who are dedicated leaders in their fields, sat down with panel host Tina Wickliffe to discuss leadership in Aotearoa from a woman's perspective.
Guest speakers on the He Puni Wāhine discussion panel Ahorangi Mākere Mutu (Ngāti Kahu), Mariameno Kapa-Kingi (Te Aupōuri), Dame Naida Glavish (Ngāti Whatua), and Katie Murray (Te Rarawa) all weighed in on the conversation around social and economic issues, discrimination against wahine in leadership roles and preserving the mana of wahine Māori in today's society.
Katie Murray, CEO of Waitomo Papakāinga, encourages everyone to complete the census this year.
